A group of children from Stamford and Rutland have delivered a petition to Downing Street
calling for urgent reforms in schools over allergy safety. 13,500 signatures have been collected in just a few weeks calling for the swift introduction of Benedict's Law. In memory of Benedict Blythe from Stamford who died following an allergic reaction at school. The petition asks for schools to hold robust allergy policies including adrenaline pens and training for staff. One of the children at Number 10 was Etta, Benedict's younger sister. Mum Helen Blythe says it's a powerful way to ask the government to act.
‘Etta and her friends have shown the courage and clarity the adults in power often lack. Their message is simple. No more preventable deaths. We need proper legislation that protects children with allergies in every school’.
