Organisers of this Sunday's Rutland and Stamford Pride event in Oakham are thanking Rutland County Council for their support.
The Pride flag is flying from today until Monday at Catmose. Organiser Hannah Mae Carter says the event in Oakham Marketplace is one for everyone.
‘Yeah, we've had a lot of support. There's not been a lot of hate, which is great, but there's been various hates along the world and in our country wIth all the prides. There’s been various prides having to shut down because we don't get a lot of support now. But what I found with this county is quite nice. It is a very close county, everybody knows everybody and to put something on like this, you will notice that the people that are in the LGBT or even people that are not in it that just want to support people. And if you doubt it and you haven't got a clue what it's about, come down and just have a look and it might open your eyes a bit more’.
