Rutland County Council is looking to combine separate policies that cover travel to school and post 16 transport into one single travel assistance policy
to be discussed by cabinet next Tuesday. It's hoped the move will make it simpler for parents and carers to know what transport options are available for their children. The cost of providing travel assistance for children and young people in Rutland has more than doubled since 2017 and now costs over £1,000,000 to provide. Cost providing transport for those with special educational needs and disabilities has increased to nearly one and a half million.
