An art exhibition has been launched in St John's Church in Stamford,
featuring work from members of the Evergreen Care Trust Friends Together group and local schoolchildren. It was launched on Age Without Limits Day, a national campaign against ageism. Several artists and also a poet visited Evergreen groups to help lead the work, which also features a collage from children of St Augustine's primary school in the town. The church at the bottom of the High Street will be open throughout this Saturday for a public viewing of the work.
Meanwhile, South Kesteven District Council has also lent its support for Age Without Limits campaign, recognising the value of older workers and also residents. This includes offering more flexible working, supporting career development at every stage of working life, and recognising the experience and contribution of staff of all ages across their workforce. SKDC has also asked residents age 50 and over earlier this year to take part in a survey about housing, transport, access to services, opportunities to stay active and how connected they feel in their local area. More than 1,000 people took part which will now help guide the council's next steps.
