Police, fire and several medical services worked together to give a driver the best care
possible after a serious collision at Cold Overton yesterday. A member of the public who saw the incident called 999 and began first aid with advice from the ambulance control room and within minutes Doctor Leon Roberts, who volunteers with EMiCS, arrived and took over. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue then came along to assist and make the road safe whilst police closed the roads and began their investigation. The Air Ambulance landed in a nearby field and within minutes the driver was on their way to hospital and is receiving treatment for serious injuries. Both the Air Ambulance and EMICS are registered charities and rely on donations to operate.
