Storm Darragh has forced the cancellation of the Oundle Town and Tesco Oakham Christmas markets tomorrow
with wind speeds expected to reach 60 miles an hour through the day. Uppingham late night shopping did have good support last night despite wet and windy weather. Stamford Striders have postponed the Stamford Santa Fun Run at Burghley Park this Sunday due to concerns over the trees on the site. They’re holding it next Sunday instead, the 15th of December. Melton's Christmas light switch on has been cancelled tonight but the markets and entertainment will continue today in the town and the stockyard is being used for the Christmas market whilst their planned car boot has been postponed to another date.
