Last week on Rutland and Stamford Sound, we heard about Stamford's primary schools and some secondaries supporting a pledge to reduce smartphone use in children and students. Now, Stamford Endowed Schools have announced they're going smartphone free.
Students aged 11 to 16 put their phone into a pouch at the start of the school day, which is locked up until the end of lessons. Tablets are used for schoolwork, so students have no need to look up anything on their phones. The school has put together a video, which explains more.
