Dementia Support South Lincolnshire celebrated the 15th year anniversary of their weekly tai chi sessions this morning, with a special demonstration and lesson accompanied by tea and cake at Bourne Corn Exchange.
Ray Pawlett, former UK Tai Chi Champion, leads the sessions every Wednesday afternoon which bring together local people with dementia to practise the martial art.
The social activity promotes balance, breathing, flexibility and coordination and Pawlett adapts each session to the physical needs of the participants.
He said: “We are all feeling quite proud about the fact that we’ve helped so many people with their dementia journey and created some laughter in the world as well.”
