A new senior coroner has been appointed for Lincolnshire to investigate deaths where the cause is unknown, where it may not be due to natural causes or which needs an inquiry for some other reason.
Lorinda Bowell was called to the bar in 2006 and specialised in criminal law across the Midlands for over a decade and has served as area coroner in Nottingham and assistant coroner in Sheffield.
She described the appointment in Lincolnshire as the proudest achievement of her career and thanked her predecessor Paul Smith, whose legacy she is determined to build on.
Bowell believes Lincolnshire has fantastic court centres that need to be as accessible as possible, but as a large rural county, they will also be offering hybrid hearings for families if required.
