The rural policing team in Rutland and Leicestershire is asking communities to keep reporting incidents, stay vigilant and keep up security measures.
Officers say they're investigating a range of incidents from theft of a horse, lorry, diesel stolen from agricultural machinery, attempted theft of a telehandler and an off-road utility vehicle, as well as reports of break-ins to outbuildings and crime against wildlife, including fish, a badger set, and nesting birds being disturbed. They say reporting of anything suspicious helps them build intelligence.
Yesterday afternoon, police were called to report a quad. Bikes being ridden on private farmland at Buckminster, which they say can damage crops fields and in the dry weather increase the risk of fire.
