Rutland County Council is launching cheaper bus travel for under 18s today to encourage more use of public transport through the summer holidays.
Single journeys are £1.00 and returns £2.00 until the 24th of August. The initiative is funded by Rutland's Bus Improvement Plan, a government scheme which allows local authorities to offer periods of subsidised travel on public transport.
All journeys must start in Rutland to qualify. It's hoped the scheme will reduce congestion and encourage more people into our towns to support the shops.
